The Obama Scenario

What will America look like if Obama is elected?

The United States of America was never intended to be a nation/state where the federal government would have unlimited and ultimate power. This nation was built on a Union of separate states, each intended to govern itself. The Bill of Rights was created to prevent a federal government from having more power than the People, and that power would belong to the People as a group and a whole. ¹

Now we find ourselves in a time where the US Constitution is drowning amid thousands of laws enacted to reduce the power of the people and place it in the hands of an increasingly larger federal government... a government that controls more and more of our daily lives.

The sinister side of this is the potential that a communistic change is about to be played out. ²

It is no joke that if Obama wins and Nancy Pelosi gets a larger majority in the House with a corresponding filibuster-proof lead in the Senate, our country will take a path, at light speed, toward irrevocable socialism. The $800 Billion play money the Secretary of the Treasury will get to spend ³, will open an Obama administration to a level of corruption never before seen in the history of the United States. Congressional oversight, designed to prevent fraud, will rubberstamp any action the administration takes.

In a matter of a few years, the Democrat-led Congress will pass Amnesty for Illegals ⁴; a Government-run healthcare system ⁵; restrictions on gun ownership ⁶; the Global Poverty Act ⁷; the UN Law of the Sea Treaty ⁸; the Kyoto Accord ⁹; an Energy bill that, instead of providing more energy, will institute a unilateral and economy-choking cap on energy uses ¹⁰; turn authority of our military over to the UN and to world courts ¹¹; and the implementation of the Fairness Doctrine ¹².

We have this and more to look forward to in an Obama administration.

I know this sounds "doomsday-ish" but Barack Obama and the democrat leadership have already promised to enact each of these. And they will have the power to do it, with control of all three branches of government.

And it will be our fault.

The US Constitution provides, for the Federal Government, a system of Checks and Balances. This concept allows each branch the ability to rein in the other ¹³. With democrats controlling the Executive Branch and having a super-majority in the Legislative Branch, it will be a matter of time before liberal-minded judges, who legislate from the bench, will control the US Supreme Court. They will have unopposed control over the federal branches, and half of the People will have no voice in government.

When over 50% of the population use their vote for selfish economic interests that force the remaining population to support them, we will have taken our country down a road toward the very thing we once fought against. And we will have allowed those in power to create a militant bureaucracy only too willing to enforce economic tyranny by rewriting the Bill of Rights into a document that fits their purposes, and taking away our civil liberties.

The Enemy from Within

Such a harsh title...

I am not one to claim I know the heart and soul of Barack Obama... all I can do is listen to his words, compare his actions, review his past and pass a judgement on whether this man is worthy enough for my vote.

Well, we have already established that he's not.

Need We Say More?

One would think that the news this weekend alone would be enough to convince anyone that Barack Obama shouldn't even be in this election, much less winning it.

Here are some highlights to help remind us of the idiocy that is occurring around us:

1. Joe Biden declared that Obama's inexperience and weakness will cause some form of terrorist attack on the US within the first six months of his presidency. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/20/biden-obama-tested-world-months-administration/

2. Obama tried to distance himself from ACORN by saying that his relationship with the group is limited to one lawsuit where he represented ACORN... but Obama had previously said much differently: "I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career..." 3. Last week Joe the Plumber asked Obama about his tax plans and was told by the Senator that his goal is to "spread the wealth." Obama was refering to comments he made regarding a plan that he claims will constitute a tax cut for 95% of Americans. He has said that he will raise taxes on higher income households, and he will give a tax credit to those with lower incomes. How he is to have 5% of Americans pay for his near $1 trillion spending increase is yet to be understood, but that is a different story. 5. Joe Biden: "I promise you we're going to be sitting here a year from now going oh, my God, Why are they there in the polls, why is the polling so down... 6. Mainstream media was finally forced to come 'somewhat' clean about their bias towards Obama. This race has been like a lopsided football game where all of the referees are betting on the opposing team, so their calls are all against the home team. Looking back over the past couple of months, how many scandals or questionable details have come up about John McCain? Yet Obama, with all of these issues still leads in the polls.

Fact or Fiction?

Here are some interesting factoids surrounding the status of the US economy and our political leadership. These are primarily anecdotal, but they paint a very interesting picture.

Fact or Fiction?
President Bush has been in office for 7½ years. The first six the economy was doing great and rated as one of the best economic expansions in history. A little over one year ago:

• Consumer confidence stood at a 2.5 year high
• Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon
• The unemployment rate was 4.5%
• The DOW hit a record 14,000 +
• Americans were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacationing overseas, and living large!

But the war was not going well and Americans wanted CHANGE. So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes... we got 'CHANGE.'

In the PAST YEAR:

• Consumer confidence has plummeted to record lows
• Gasoline reached over $4.00 a gallon
• Unemployment is up to over 6% (a 10% increase)
• Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 Trillion dollars and prices are still dropping
• 1% of American homes are in foreclosure
• The DOW has dropped below 9,000 and lost over 35% of its value

This democratic congress has an approval rating of 11%. Of course, it was congress all along that affected these outcomes, the one thing listed above the President does have control over (the reason the Republican congress was voted out - the Iraq War), has now become a success.

This Democratic Congress has been one of the most inept congresses ever.

Now the democratic candidate for president claims he is going to really give us change.

Economy: Who is at Fault?

President Bush has been blamed repeatedly for the current economic crisis that this nation, and the world faces. An LA Times article states that 75% of Americans believe that George W. Bush is the cause of our current situation. ¹ Who really is to blame and how would Barack Obama's policies affect the current status of our economy?

Before we can assign blame you must first understand what has caused this economic crisis. Every economist alive points a finger at the predatory lending practices of certain financial institutions. ² These "subprime loans" that we all hear about, and most don't understand (typically Adjustable Rate Mortgages with a 2 or 3-year fixed rate that adjusts to a much higher rate at the end of the fixed term - offered to borrowers who would not qualify for a conventional loan due to poor credit), are at the heart of this lending crisis. So, why were banks allowed to offer loans like this, and why didn't anyone see this coming?

Well first, lenders weren't 'allowed' to do this, they were forced. And secondly, many people did see this coming, including John McCain. How were they forced? It all began in 1977 with Jimmy Carter's Community Reinvestment Act. ³ What was founded on good intentions, forced lenders to offer mortgage loans to individuals who did not qualify for them conventionally. Unfortunately, this well-intended law eventually led to a housing boom based on shoddy loan practices, a subsequent bust, and the financial mess that we are in today. ⁴ The next boggle came in 1999 when Bill Clinton proudly signed into law the Fair Housing Act. This Act forced lenders to give "$6.5 billion in home mortgages and extra effort to help 78,000 minority and low-income families to unlock the door to home-ownership." ⁵ The announcement of this effort coincidentally fell during a time in Clinton's presidency when he was on trial in the US Congress.

In 2005 and again in 2006, John McCain and a group of Republican Senators warned against the lending practices caused by the combination of these two Acts and the unscrupulous dealings of certain lenders. Since McCain made this claim, certain "factcheck" websites, like politifact, have called him a liar... however we have the actual letter sent to the Senate leadership. ⁶

The point here is, Barack Obama wants to repeat the economic practices of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. He wants to raise taxes and increase spending during a time of economic turmoil. When Carter did this in the late 70's, he was fortunate to only get a recession in return. Only ONE OTHER time in history has a president raised taxes during an economic downturn, and Herbert Hoover ended up with the worst depression in US history. ⁷

Do we really want a repeat of this?

Why Not Obama?

Since my first posting I have received several emails asking why I am against Barack Obama, some even with a hint of surprise. First, let it be known that I am a registered Independent and not a Republican. I consider myself a social and fiscal conservative and vote accordingly. So, I decided today's post would be a simple list of reasons why Obama is not my candidate of choice... or better yet, why I believe he would be dangerous for this country:

We'll start with the obvious...

Abortion - Obama is pro-abortion, but even more than that he is anti-life. Earlier this month he voted NO on a bill to require doctors to provide treatment to viable babies that were delivered alive during the process of a late-term abortion. Instead, these "aborted" babies are to receive no treatment or food and allowed to die outside the womb. http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Barack_Obama_Abortion.htm

Taxes - Obama has made it no secret that he plans to implement the largest tax hike since the fiasco of Jimmy Carter. He claims it will only affect those earning $250,000 or more, but what is going to hold him to this promise? In April he claimed he was going to raise the capital gains taxes on all investments from 15% to 28%, but today he says he will only raise it 20% and only for "wealthy investors." Crime - Obama has a voting record of supporting civil liberties over law enforcement. He is an extreme social-liberal, ranked the most liberal senator in 2007 (http://nj.nationaljournal.com/voteratings/). Energy - Obama has flip-flopped several times on his energy policy. No to off-shore drilling, Yes to off-shore drilling... No to nuclear power, Yes to nuclear power... Socialism - I have already pointed out how Obama is ranked the most liberal senator of 2007, but what does that translate into? Just this week Obama made a statement that we need to "spread the wealth." This is the very premise of communism. So, is Barack Obama a communist or a socialist? Gov. Spending - What will Obama's "change" cost us? $800 billion in new spending (on top of our current spending). Who is going to pay for it? According to Obama, just 5% of the American population. He refers to Clinton as the Democrat who balanced the budget, yet his tax and spend policies take us further down the road of George W. Health Care - Some may argue this point, but I believe that the USA offers the best medical care in the world. Dignitaries from around the world travel to the US for their medical treatments. Of course, that is not the issue, but rather how some people within the US are unable to pay for the use of this medical system. We could talk about how Obama's health care plans are in fact socialized medicine but instead let's talk about how Obama's plan fiscally COULD NOT WORK. Obama's plan involves paying for everyone who is not insured to be insured, forcing parents to accept his plan by levying fines and penalizing small businesses who can't afford to offer health insurance to employees (once again communism comes to mind). Foreign Policy - I will not talk about the Iraq war or the War on Terrorism. This is too subjective an issue and one that no one can win. Instead, I call to your attention the statements Obama has made regarding how he would approach America's enemies. He has since reworded his statements in the 2nd presidential debate, but even then his meaning was clear. Instead of using history as a textbook he expects that by some miracle he can sit down with rogue dictators and ask them to be nice... evil cannot be nice. Who is He? - Lastly, WHO IS THIS GUY? He has a Hawaii birth certificate... he doesn't have one; he went to a Muslim school... he didn't go to one; He attended a black liberation church for 20 years... but he doesn't agree with them; He has no affiliations with ACORN... but he was their lawyer for at least 7 years; Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, Ayham Alsammarae, Raila Odinga (shown)... some say no one cares about these people, but I do. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/opinion/columnists/datelinedc/s_488184.html

Five years ago Barack Hussein Obama lived in relative obscurity. Today he may be the next most powerful man on the planet. With all of these skeletons in his closet, how could this have happened? Some speculate it was George Soros, along with a team of PR experts and persona doctors that put him here. I say it had to be something, because it doesn't make sense.

Whatever the reason, I cannot give my vote for the highest office in the land to a man I don't trust. How on Earth could our nation elect such a DANGEROUS man is beyond me.

Welcome to my attempt at blogging.

I dedicate this blog to the effort to stop Barrack Obama from becoming the most dangerous president this nation has ever known.

I decided a long time ago to begin blogging, but I never got around to it. Now, with all of the potential harm that may come from this election cycle, I must add my voice to the chaos that is the American political system. I just hope it is not too late to add my small voice.

So, I hope you look forward to my Words of Wisdom... usually borrowed from other sources... and I welcome feedback from all sides.
